Summary

Starting business in a new country brings with it a significant amount of new issues. Different laws, different business models, different tax regimes, and getting to know the surroundings. One particular unseen issue is the cultural difference. In business, people tend to behave professionally so they will hide personal frustrations. But business does suffer when people do not take into account the local 'mores'. The culture bridge helps you to overcome this and make your organisation ready to work in any country. Specifically, in The Netherlands, the Gulf countries and Japan.

Explanation

The culture bridge is an approach based on the academic Hofstede 6 dimensional model. It's a combination of presentations, training, workshops and on the floor guidance to help everyone spot, handle and overcome cultural differences. It starts with getting to know their own cultural particulars, learning to spot other culture's characteristics, and ends in learning ways to connect to people from different cultures.

Method

Via a custom made project approach, we plan sessions with the people involved to bring cultural difference into the light. Next, we plan visits where I will join as a cultural advisor to important meetings to smoothen out the remaining issues. When this is done, the organisation can stand on its own and I will remain available as advisor on call for future issues and also for training of new people.
